The Anini Beach / Kalihiwai area is reminiscent of Tahiti and the South Pacific. Anini Beach is protected by a huge barrier reef and offers good snorkeling, windsurfing, and beach combing during certain times of the year.

Kalihiwai, which is nearby sports a beautiful bay that is a favorite of local surfers and fishermen. Caution is advised in the winter months due to high surf. The beach is small but very picturesque and there is a lazy winding river that flows into the ocean on the West end.

Hanalei is an artsy, and unusual small town just down the road from Princeville. Hanalei has a two mile long white sandy beach with a large beach park and perhaps some of the best views to be found anywhere. This stunning turquoise bay is also home to trans-pacific sailboats and has some excellent surfing breaks and is nestled a backdrop of dreamy mountain peaks.

Anahola, while technically on Kauai's East Coast has a large white sand beach and is only a few short miles from the actual beginning of Kauai's North Shore which is the town of Kilauea. This area is close to some very impressive estates and hideaways for the Rich and Famous and was once a thriving plantation town and a center for Sugar Cane Production.
