I get that it can be tricky to pick a place to stay when you are planning your trip to Kauai, Hawaii. There are plenty of good options to choose from. Some do stand out more than others, for more reasons than one. Trust me on this one, and check out Hanalei Bay Villa 23. This is a villa that is the perfect mix of all things Kauai. This vacation rental rests in Princeville, on the edge of Hanalei Bay and Puu Poa Point. The golf course is one way, the water is the other, and you are near both wildlife seclusion but also just minutes from town. See why I said perfect?
Here is the address of this two bedroom, two and a half bath villa: 5454 Ka Haku Road, Princeville, HI 96722. It has garden, mountain, and golf course views! It sleeps four people comfortably with a king bed and a full bed in the bedrooms. If you need to, this rental can sleep up to six people.
Paradise never sounded so good for the reasonable price of $1,170 per week plus taxes and cleaning fees. Nightly rates are also an option. Check out pictures of this beautiful cottage overlooking the mountains and the Makai Golf Course, by clicking the link above.
Hanalei Bay Villa 23 is loaded with the comforts of home and all of the amenities needed while on vacation. It brags of a fully equipped kitchen. Imagine what that means while on vacation…cooking at home, dining in, saving money, meeting special dietary needs as needed. To have a place to call home to go back to, and to be able to cook full meals with use of freezer, fridge, oven, stovetop, dishwasher makes life less-stressful and less-anxious. There is no rush when you get to be on your own time schedule and you are able to cook foods purchased from the grocery store nearby.
Villa 23 also hosts other perks such as TV and DVD player, ceiling fans in the bedrooms and the living room. Free Wi-Fi is through-out the home and there is a landline phone for use as well to guests. There is a high efficiency washer and dryer in this unit. You may have thought the fully loaded kitchen was great, and now you know there are private laundry services in-house. You might get used to living here!
Wondering where a good place to stay is while you are visiting Kauai? A home away from home is the right answer. Going to a vacation rental home with all of the amenities is the way to go. It is luxurious to have your own space, privacy, and to be honest–to have your own kitchen and laundry room! A vacation rental home like the Princeville Garden House is an ideal option for a family or a group of 6.
Located at 4862 Victoria Loop, Princeville, HI 96722, this home is on a quiet loop in Princeville that has garden and mountain views with a golf course nearby. It is a three bedroom, three bath home that has many comforts like home. Bedrooms have ceiling fans, oh and there are two master bedrooms! Recall how I said this was perfect for a dual family getaway? The third bedroom hosts a queen sofa bed with an upgraded mattress.
The living room has a home theater system, the kitchen is a full sized kitchen with top appliances and elbow room for cookin’. Wireless internet is throughout the house, and there is a flat screen TV as well. Out back there is a private backyard with a slate flooring, outdoor furniture, a gas grill, a hammock, and more. Oh, yes, there is a lime, orange, and avocado tree as well. If you are staying, help yourself to the ripe fruit! What attention-to-detail-perks love it!
For a week’s stay, prices start at $1350. If you break that down, for a week’s stay that’s less than $200 per night. That is easy on the budget; then if you were to split the unit for a couple’s getaway, imagine that price squarely cut in half. This is very doable, is my point. If saving money is something you seek out, think about cooking in the kitchen. Really, consider how many meals can now be cooked at your vacation rental on your own time schedule, with groceries you have purchased from the store. I’ll say it again: this is even more so easy on the budget.
Princeville is a popular place to stay and play when visiting Kauai. It is one of the larger cities on the North Shore. Good news is that is borders the ocean, too. When you come to Kauai, you want to be by the ocean, right? Short answer: yes! Pali Ke Kua 124 is a luxurious vacation rental condo with big ocean views. If for some reason you don’t believe me, have a look for yourself:
Pali Ke Kua is at 5300 Ka Haku Road, Princeville, HI 96722. It is close to the water, but in the other direction it is close to town to pickup groceries for the condo, or if you want to do some shopping. Restaurants of all kinds from truck vendors to fine dining is in Princeville. We are all on Hawaiian time, relaxing and having a good time!
This condo is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath vacation rental that goes for $1350 per week. This is easily affordable, and should you opt for this one as a couple’s double date getaway vacation, split the price in half and you will be shocked at how much money you are saving. Even then at that rate for a family of 4 or 6, this is a winning deal. Everyone can have their own space in the evening, night, and then to get ready in the morning? It will be worth it! There are 2 bedrooms with a queen sized bed in each, and then there is a sofa sleeper.
Also indoors, there are the classics: Wi-Fi, Tv with DVD player, fully kitchen and full bathrooms. Out towards the back, facing the water, is a lanai, or a back patio. This is inviting for so many reasons. You will dream up every reason just to go out back to be closer to the water, to hear the waves, to smell that fresh air…
As you can tell from the picture, the condo is fully furnished with modern fixtures, appliances, and linens. Quite frankly, it is an attractive unit, if I may say so myself. It is a condo, and what comes with the property features are also a pool and Jacuzzi, a paved path to the beach and picnic and barbeque areas.
Princeville is one of the highlights of Kauai, if I may say so myself. It is attractive in its beauty, the activities it hosts and the vacation rentals. On the outskirts of Princeville, just touching Hanalei, is Hanalei Bay Resort 6302 which boasts of luxurious vacationing. Follow the link I just added and see some jaw-dropping pictures and view from this vacation rental. The lanai, or patio, is more than just an outdoor space, but an outdoor dining option that has a view that will attract your gaze and not let it go. I like getting lost in those views, being fully immersed in the scenery and absorbing it in with all of my senses.
Hanalei Bay Resort 6302 is a vacation rental with beautiful ocean views. It is a one bedroom, one bath rental that sleeps up to 4 people. The master bedroom has an ocean view, private full bath, the lanai I was already talking about, and a flat screen television. Then there is a loft that technically acts as a second bedroom, where there are two twin sized beds. That’s how we get to “sleeps 4 people” in the math.
With your rental, you get air conditioning, wireless internet, a full kitchen, and a clothes washer and dryer. This is like a little home away from home! All of the conveniences of home are here. This is so much more than renting a room… you are able to have a living space that has everything to meet you and your family/friends needs. The option to cook “at home/in your rental” is a huge deal for most people; it is convenient for vacationers with kids, special dietary needs, and those on a strict budget.
For the reasonable base price of #1350 per week, this is a vacation rental that should not be passed up should you have the chance to rent it. Follow the link above in this article to view the availability calendar to see when you can come and stay at Hanalei Bay Resort 6302.
I just saw some gorgeous pictures of Plantation at Princeville 1111 and I just love it! The décor is just gorgeous in my opinion; it is a contemporary Hawaiian Plantation styled condo, and is fully furnished for vacation renters. Everything in this condo is sleek, attractive, and oh so welcoming! It is the perfect place for a family of 4-6 to come and stay.
This vacation rental condo is located at 4771 Pepelani Loop, Princeville, HI 96722 which is on Kauai’s luxurious north shore. It is just minutes to the world-famous Hanalei Bay and all of the other north shore beaches. Also in Princeville, are shopping centers to grab some groceries, children’s parks, the public library and it is very close to the Makai and Prince Golf Courses. Did I mention that this was a fantastic location?
As for the insides of this vacation rental, you are all set! It is a fully furnished condo, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a master bedroom that hosts a king-sized bed, there is another bedroom that hosts 2 twin-sized beds, and there is a sofa sleeper in the living room should you need. In total, you can have up to 6 adults/children.
Kauai has great temperatures… in fact Kauai has such comfortable temperatures most homes do not have air conditioning. This may be news to some folks. Anyway, for the comfort of the vacation renters, there are two air conditioning units in the master bedroom as well as in the living room. Plantation at Princeville 1111 is wired with cable TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is gorgeous and ready to go. Just pop into town for some groceries and you are set!
There is also a full-sized (yes, I said full-sized) washer and dryer in unit as well. This works out well for families with kids, as well as those who just want to get their laundry done and not have to do it all post-vacation. How neat is that? This condo really is luxurious, and for the low weekly price of about $1170 it is very affordable and provides the family or group with all of the comforts and conveniences of a home. I find this to be a highly desirable vacation rental!
There is always something good going on in Princeville. That is part of why I recommend vacationing and staying on this shoreline town. For a family of four, Puamana in Princeville is just the right vacation rental to come and stay at. This two-story condo sleeps four people comfortably and does not miss a beat when it comes to meeting your family’s needs.
Puamana 2D is the condominium vacation rental located at 3880 Wyllie Road, Princeville, HI. It is an end unit, and you could very well call it a townhouse. At this beautiful location you will get to experience both a mountain and a tropical garden view. Oh, and the golf course is nearby too. The Anini beach path is a five minute walk away, too. Didn’t I say that this place does not miss a thing?!
It is a two bedroom, two bath condo. A king bed is in the master and a queen is in the other bedroom downstairs. Every room is furnished with linens and all of the little details that count. There are plenty of bathroom linens as well. The clothes washer and dryer there are also nice to have, for you can do your laundry on an as-need basis, and not worry about running out of clothes or returning to your home with luggage full of clothes that need to be laundered.
The kitchen is ready to go! You do need to stock it with food, but everything else you need is right there at your fingertips. This makes it easy to have your meals first thing in the morning, or late at night while the kids are in bed for example. I think having a kitchen in-home is great for families with young children who can be routy at meals sometimes, or for the person who has specialty dietary needs. Having access around the clock to a full sized kitchen is the best when you are on vacation. Not too many places can brag about that!
There is so much more that this rental has to offer: a gas barbeque, a pool onsite, a private patio, television, phone, the whole nine-yards. Rates for Puamana 2D start as low as $840 per week. That is as low as $120 per day! That is a very competitive price that will be tough to beat considering all of the accommodations this place has to offer. Feel free to call Oceanfront Realty at 808-826-6478 and ask about seasonal prices, discounts, and availability. Nightly rates are also an option–it is not limited to only weekly rates. Puamana really is a great condo to stay at while you and your family come to visit Princeville and the surrounding areas on the beautiful Kauai.
Princeville is a lovely, luxurious place to be! It is one of the major cities on the island of Kauai. Princeville gets to brag of not one but two championship golf courses. If you are looking to stay somewhere with a city buzz to it, Princeville is your place. Staying in a vacation rental is what I suggest for your lodging needs. I have talked with too many people over the years and vacation rentals are the way to go. Let me introduce you to Plantation at Princeville and you will see why a vacation rental is the best way to go when vacationing or visiting Kauai’s north shore.
First off, Princeville is a major city on Kauai, but the Plantation at Princeville is not smack in the middle of downtown. It is just the right mix of being close to things to do on the island, while also having privacy at the vacation home. Furthermore, the beach is just a few minutes’ drive. Staying at the Plantation at Princeville leads you to Anini Beach, that’s the closest one. Hanalei Bay is also just a drive down the coast too. It’s a win-win-win for you. One nearby attraction (literally down the short road) is the Princeville Golf Club-Makai Course. If you or anyone in your group staying at this vacation home plays golf, you are in luck!
Here is the street address if you would like to see for yourself the location on a map: 4771 Pepelani Loop Suite 211, Princeville, HI 96722. This rental home has a homey-meets-luxury feel to it. Let me tell you…
It comfortably hosts a family of four. Keep in mind, if this is not a family trip it makes for a great couples getaway for a vacation double date. There is a room (master) with 1 King sized bed and another bedroom with a Queen sized bed. It is equipped with what you’d expect in a home: air-conditioning, wireless internet, TVs in every room, a stackable washer and dryer, and a fully equipped kitchen. On top of a kitchen ready to go, is a gas grill for you to use at your convenience. Sounding like a home yet, that you can live in and relax in? There is also a one car garage–perfect for the rental car you have while on Kauai.
I saved the best piece of information for last. The price! Really, all of this is priced for just $960 per week plus tax. How reasonable is that? All you need, right at home at your vacation rental. There are seasonal rates, as well as discounted times of the year, so be sure to book your trip before your desired dates fill up.
What can be better than a bay on a bluff? (Go ahead – Try saying that 3 time really fast.) On Kauai, we have some beautiful waterways and even better vacation homes. And the best of both worlds has got to be Kalihiwai Ocean Bluff, a vacation home on top of an ocean bluff overlooking Kalihiwai Bay. It’s one of the most beautiful spots on the island, and you could stay here on your vacation!
Now, this house is pretty large, with two spacious living rooms, a lanai for relaxing, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen, and enough sleeping space for 10+ people. (The + sign is for those who don’t mind sleeping on the couch.) And to add to the sheer size and majesty of this house, there are also full sized windows in almost every room. In the living room, there are floor to ceiling windows. And each view will be of a tropical paradise overlooking crystal clear waters.
Now, beside the amazing view, the floors are probably my favorite part of this house. I admit that I tested out this vacation rental, just to see how great it was. And after spending the day sipping wine on the lanai and watching the water, I went inside to those amazing tile and wood floors… and slid in my socks all the way across the kitchen. Hardwood gives a strong and elegant feel to any house, and it is perfect for sliding.
Of course, there’s also plenty of room to slide. The kitchen is fairly large, so there is lots of floor space. This means that a group of friends can all help make a meal at the end of the day, which is a bonus. Plus, there is a lot of counter space for cooking, mixing, prepping, adding ingredients, and more. And, like all vacation rentals I discuss on this blog, the kitchen has everything you will need to cook a meal at home. (I mean, what’s the point in using a vacation rental if you have to go out and buy pots, pans, utensils, and appliances?)
Now, I admit that renting this house wouldn’t be ideal for a small family of 4, unless you all want your own rooms. Plus, owing to its position on the bluff, it’s wouldn’t be great for small children either. No, this house is designed to hold a very large family or a group of friends or business associates. It is perfect for a large group, having the sleeping space, relaxation space, and kitchen potential to hold many many individuals. Plus, there is a backyard for outdoor play.
So if you are planning on getting a group together and coming to Kauai, please consider this house. It’s truly lovely and I believe it will be well worth the price.
When you’re on vacation, you don’t just want to stay in a hotel room with no space to stretch out and nothing to do. You want to stay somewhere with lots of space, some great amenities, and something to do while you’re there. And that’s why I’m posting today about one of the most beautiful homes for rent on Kauai: Taro Plantation.
This 4 bedroom, 3 bath house is massive. Each room has comfortable furniture that perfectly fits the space, owing to an excellent interior decorator. And each space in the house continues the elegant theme of natural woods, soft tones, and upscale grandeur that are so apparent when you first walk in.
Included in that grandeur are antiques from China and Indonesia, moving pieces that provide a sense of awe and cultural depth to the house. Plus, there are stained glass windows that diffuse the light and inspire with shades of joy.
The bedrooms are suites really. The master suite has a king-sized poster bed, beautiful furniture, and the most impressive bathroom I’ve ever seen, with large tiles leading into a walk-in bathing area. The other bedrooms have queen-sized beds, so no one will have to sleep in a tiny space. Owing to this, the house itself can sleep 8 adults comfortably, and one more if your guest doesn’t mind sleeping on the couch.
But the rooms aren’t the best part. The living space is substantial and comfortable. The living room has cable tv and a DVD player for quiet nights at home. Plus, the house is equipped with high speed internet, so you can bring your laptops and read my blog as you sit in your beautiful vacation home in comfort. And, best of all, there is a large gourmet kitchen that includes all of the best appliances, cookware, dishes, and utensils you will need to feed everyone you bring with you. Off the kitchen is a large dining room that seats 8 and you will find everything you need to lay out a beautiful dinner in the kitchen shelves.
And that doesn’t even begin to take the outside into account. This house is built in a secluded spot in Hanalei Valley, right past Swan Lake. To get there, you will drive through beautiful taro fields and waterways, leading to a house right in the midst of nature. Each morning, you can step out onto the spacious lanai (patio) and enjoy a cup of Kauai Coffee while you watch the waterfowl play in the water. And, if you’d like to take a dip in a refreshing pool, there is a large pool on the property where you can swim contentedly. There is even a poolside dining area, a beautifully laid out section of tile where you can BBQ (it’s a gas grill) and eat while having a pool party.
Now, this all sounds very secluded and far away from civilization, right? But fortunately, while it’s tucked away far enough to be private, this home is only a short walk away from town. Hanalei Town has just about everything you’ll need while you stay with us, from restaurants to grocery stores, from gift shops to equipment rentals. So no matter what you’d like to do while here, you’ll be close to the action. Plus, if you walk (or drive) just a bit further, you will reach Hanalei Bay, the most beautiful beach on earth.
Honestly, this house is the best of the best. However, the price is much lower than one would expect to pay for an elegant mansion home in the heart of Kauai. For only $4000 a week, you can stay in this amazing home. And sometimes they run specials, meaning you can get an even better deal on the house! It’s worth a look, right?
So if you want to come to Kauai and stay in style, please consider Taro Plantation. You will be so pampered here, you won’t want to leave!
Now I realize that the last activity I wrote about was in Lihue. And while I don’t normally recommend staying on the South-East side of the island, sometimes it’s handy to be close to an activity you plan to attend. And while I don’t recommend staying in Lihue (it’s loud and busy and not usually private), I can recommend a great vacation rental home in Anahola, north of Lihue: Anahola Aloha Beach House.
So what makes this beach house special? Well, the view is probably its most dominant feature. And I’m not just talking about the interior view of amazing architecture and aesthetically pleasing design. No, I’m referring to the fact that this house is directly on the beach. Yep, that’s right. Your view is of palm trees and sculptured lawns reaching down to the white sandy beach and crystal clear waters.
At this beach home, you will be an extremely short walk away from Anahola Bay. This is a wonderful beach for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, and other water sports. That’s because there is a protective outlying reef that keeps the water from being too choppy. There is even a lifeguard on duty at Anahola Beach, though that is closer to the public beach side. And from the sand itself, you will have an amazing view of the mountains of Kalalea.
Of course, the interior of the home is just as important as its location. After all, the location can be perfect but, if you don’t have a comfortable place to relax, you won’t enjoy your vacation nearly enough. And we do want you to enjoy your stay. So, let’s talk about amenities.
This vacation home is comfortable, modern, has custom wooden features, and has an amazing kitchen. The kitchen is filled with white appliances that perfectly off-set the wooden cupboards. And everything else you’ll need to eat a meal in the home (from cookware and utensils to dishes and a large dining room table with linens) are included. So you’ll have no problem making meals and enjoying the conveniences of this modern house.
There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, meaning there is plenty of space for a large family or a group of friends to come and spend the week. Two of the bedrooms are suits that include a King-sized bed and full bathroom. The other two rooms have queen-sized or Double beds and they share a bathroom. There is also a sofa-sleeper in the living room, so you can bring extra friends. In total, this vacation home can sleep up to 11 people comfortably. But wait – there’s more.
There is a living room where you can relax and unwind during the day, but there is also an entertainment room that has a flat screen TV with DVD player. And while there are TVs with DVD players in all the guest rooms, this is a great room for getting together for a movie night.
And don’t worry about running out of clean clothes. This home has its own washer and dryer, so you won’t have to pack so much stuff. (This will leave plenty of room in your luggage for souvenirs and will also allow you to clean all of your clothes before you go home, meaning less work once you return to your real life.) There is also a private hot tub on the lanai, so you can relax under the stars each night while sipping wine and dreaming of a quiet life.
And, this is the best part, you can stay here for only $3500 a week! This means that each person on this trip will only have to pay $45/night to stay at a mansion home with a hot tub on an amazing Kauai beach. Seriously! Finding a hotel like this would cost $1000 a night! Can you say “Amazingly Good Deal!” (Of course, this is the price during October only. During the summer and during Thanksgiving week, the price is $4500, and during Christmas/New Years, the price is $5500. So plan your trip accordingly.)
Now, can you see any reason why you wouldn’t want to stay here? I can’t. So come and enjoy yourself… and bring your friends!
Do you need a place to stay while you are on Kauai? How about a place that’s close to the sand castle building competition? How about a house that’s walking distance from the beach so you don’t have far to go? How about Nani Kai in Hanalei, one of the cutest vacation rental homes in Kauai?
Now, if you don’t have kids, you will still love this vacation home for the space it affords and the bright and cheery atmosphere of the interior. However, if you DO have children, you will love this place for many, many reasons, some of which I will list now.
This property has 4 bedrooms. The largest (the master bedroom) has an attached bathroom and a door to the lanai outside. The other bedrooms have queen-sized and full-sized beds and they share a bathroom. So your children will be sleeping well in their own rooms and you will be enjoying the master suit with your sweetheart.
The living room has enough comfortable furniture to allow a whole household of children to lounge comfortably. It’s also a short walk to a beach. So if you’re sick of having a bunch of kids who only want to hang out at the house and lounge all day, this is the place for you. Lounging for them; nature walk and beach time for the whole family.
Another plus is the fact that this house has… wait for it… AIR CONDITIONING! Now, most places on Kauai have ceiling fans and such, to combat the days when it’s humid outside. But even then, sometimes it’s hard for small children to be in a tropical climate, if they aren’t used to it. After a long day of playing in the sun and getting sweaty, wouldn’t it be nice to come home to a cool, air conditioned house? I think so. And your children will appreciate it.
There is also a washer and dryer in this house. Now, this isn’t exactly for the kids, but let’s face it: kids are messy. Everyday of your vacation, they will get dirty, wet, sandy, and covered in grime. So to keep you from having to pack every child 3 outfits for every day of your vacation, you can just use the washer and dryer. You’re welcome.
And then there’s the best part (apart from the beach): the backyard. The backyard is wonderful. It has a ton of space to run around, a gazebo for hanging out in the warm tropical weather, and beautiful mountain views surrounding it all. (That last part is for you, parents. Kids don’t always appreciate mountain views.) There is also a BBQ so you can cook delicious meals out on the BBQ while the kids run around and play. In essence, it’s a great place to spend your Kauai vacation. Don’t you think?
So come and check it out. You’re going to love this house.
If you plan to visit Kauai, you’ll want to stay on the North Side of the island. Why? Well, there is a TON to do here on the North Shore. Plus, I live here! So I can personally attest to the fact that all of the cool kids live on this side. (Okay, forgive the mention of “cool kids.” We’re really more like adults.) Anyway, my point is that you’ll want an amazing rental home here in the North, as you’ll be spending most of your time here. And that amazing home is called Hoku Hale.
Hoku Hale is a great property for multiple reasons… and I’m going to start with the kitchen.
Now, I realize that most of you wouldn’t choose the kitchen, but that’s just because you haven’t seen the place yet. Believe me – I’ve visited quite a few vacation rental homes. And this is the first home where I literally drooled over the kitchen. It’s big. It has a huge island. It has enough counter space to cook a feast and feed an army. It’s fully stocked with kitchen items from utensils to appliances. The lighting is perfect. It has a ceiling fan for humid days, so you don’t feel like you’re going to melt into the floor while you cook. And it’s just plain beautiful. I’m in love. I would like to live in this house always, just so I can use the kitchen.
Okay, that said, let me tell you about the rest of the house.
This is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Hanalei, off Weke Road. The bedrooms all have king-sized beds and space enough to stretch out and enjoy yourself. The bathrooms are full bathrooms, so there is no fighting over the shower with friends or family members. And three bedrooms means it can sleep 6 comfortably with room for up to 8, if your guests don’t mind couches.
Amenities include things like wireless internet, beautifully remodeled bathrooms, granite countertops, ceiling fans, and two lanais for your relaxation. There is also a washer-dryer unit in the house, so you can pack light and wash what you wear before you go home. And there is a BBQ for grilling up any fish you catch or local food you bring home.
The exterior of the house is well-kept and nice. There is a large lawn where you can run around and play with your kids, and quite a few fruit trees where you can pick some excellent Kauai-grown produce. The house itself is raised up on stilts, so you get the best views around. (Plus, there is a wrap-around deck with outdoor tables and chairs, so you can sit out on the deck each morning with a cup of Kauai Coffee and enjoy the beautiful mountain air.)
But it gets better.
The world-famous Hanalei Bay is right across the street. Literally. So the best beach on Kauai is only a short walk away. And each night you can fall asleep listening to the sound of the surf.
This is seriously one of the best vacation rentals on Kauai, and it can be your home-away-from-home when you visit. So please feel free to call and check the availability on this property. You are going to LOVE it!
When you go on vacation, you want to get away from it all, right? You want quiet, relaxing spaces. You want white sandy beaches and fun activities. You want good food, good company, and a good place to curl up with a good book. What you don’t want is a noisy hotel with cramped quarters and shared walls, dealing with masses of people as you try to get through your time off. That’s not good. What you really need is Haena Place, a great vacation rental right here on Kauai.
Kauai is a relaxing place with something to do for everyone. And if you and your family are planning on staying near Haena, Haena Place is a good choice for a rental home. Why? Well, first of all, it’s quiet. Unlike a large hotel, you won’t be sharing walls, dealing with masses of people in the lobby, or hearing your neighbors fighting two doors down the hall. You will be on a quiet cul-du-sac in a safe neighborhood enjoying the benefits of a private home.
Secondly, the cost is far less than a typical hotel room. While hotels overcharge for a single room with an attached bathroom, you can rent Haena Place (two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, living room, deck, kitchen, lanai, etc) for only $1350 a week!! That’s less than $200 a day for an entire, fully-equipped house!
Thirdly, it is in a great location. The neighborhood (which I mentioned before) is safe and friendly. Plus, it’s a short walk from some GREAT beaches! (It pays to stay on the North Shore.) You can sit out on the deck of the house and enjoy some beautiful views, featuring the lush tropical mountains and some lovely waterfalls. And this puts you in a great location to find hiking trails, water sport activities, and equipment rentals as well.
Lastly, the home itself is nice. The kitchen has plenty of space to cut, chop, prepare, and make however many meals you want. The home is furnished with comfortable furniture, and the bedrooms have queen and king-sized beds. The living room has a TV hooked up with cable and a DVD/VCR box. Plus, the deck furniture is nice and perfect for a morning outside, sipping some coffee or tea and watching the natural world around you.
So please consider Haena Place if you plan to stay near Haena on the North Shore. And enjoy your time here on Kauai!
It’s approaching the 4th of July. Kauai’s hotels are filling with visitors to the island who want to see some hula, some palm trees, and a lot of fireworks over the ocean. And you and your friends want to all come together and party for the weekend. There’s just one problem: you can’t afford to get that many hotel rooms. Well, not to worry – that’s why you have Anahola Beach House.
Anahola is a beautiful area in Northern Kauai that has some of the most wonderful beaches. The water is blue, the sand is white, and the lush vegetation is vibrant green and smells amazing. And if you want to experience that up close and personally, you don’t want to be stuck in a hotel room. You want to be in a house directly on the beach, so you can walk directly out the back door and onto the sand, right?
The Anahola Beach House can give you that. It is a HUGE house on the beach, just a short hop across a beautiful backyard to get to the water. There are enough rooms to sleep 12 comfortably and more than that if they want to crash on the furniture. Each room has comfortable furniture, wide open spaces, and enough room for several people to maneuver easily. Plus, there are tons of amenities for you and your friends to enjoy.
The outside has a BBQ and patio furniture, so you can eat outside and enjoy the beautiful views as you listen to waves crashing on the beach. Or you can play tackle football on the grass. Your choice. And the inside has free wireless internet access, a giant flat screen tv, a big kitchen that is fully equipped to cook whatever you want to make, and enough space to do whatever you want. You can go out, you can stay in, and you can have a great time this 4th of July weekend with your friends.
So what are you waiting for? Do you want to pay over $200 per night per room for your entire group of friends? Or do you want the best house in the world for only $4,500 per week?? For a group of 12, that is only $375 per person for 7 full days!! And it’s even less with more friends.
So come and visit Kauai and stay at Anahola Beach House. It will be SO worth it.
So, if Jazz at Birdie’s Café sounded good (or if you are just visiting the Southern half of the island), there are a couple of great places to stay in Poipu. My favorite of them is called Hale Huna, and I’ve probably told you about it before. But in case you’re new to this blog, let me catch you up.
Hale Huna is a lovely rental home on the end of Kelaukia Street. It’s a larger rental, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and large common areas for dining, lounging, entertaining, cooking, and watching tv. Each room flows into the next with seamless perfection, as the plantation theme of the common areas runs throughout the entire house. This means you get modern comfort and creativity with an old Hawaii plantation house style and feel. The result is a home that is both welcoming and easy to live in. This is definitely the type of house you want to rent while on Kauai.
And, of course, it has a back yard that is just as epic as the front. This is very important if you love the outdoors and/or have a bunch of kids. The backyard of this home is spacious. Large French doors open into a private garden with lots of lawn. From this yard, you can see the beautiful mountains and lush gardens surrounding you. You can also dine outside, grilling on the BBQ and using the patio furniture as the children play tag football on the lawn.
And what vacation home is complete without some wonderful amenities? This home in particular has “more than you can shake a stick at,” as my mother would say. First off, it has all of the major comforts of home. For dining, there is a kitchen filled with all the latest gadgets, a large dining room table set for eight, and enough outdoor patio furniture to comfortably seat 8. Then there is the ambiance, complete with ceiling fans in each room to combat humidity and hardwood floors throughout the home. For those who love electronics, the house comes complete with 3 HDTVs and 3 DVD players, two in bedrooms and one in the living room. And if you need to check my blog while you’re here, Hale Huna also has DSL and WIFI.
Plus, Hale Huna is a part of the Poipu Kai Resort structure as well, meaning you can use many of the resort amenities. They include tennis courts (the house has free tennis rackets you can use), a gated swimming pool, and a spa. Plus, security is assured, as the resort has a 24-hour security team whose sole job is to keep renters and resort families safe.
Now for the best part: location. Hale Huna is located right near the ocean! In fact, you can access three major beaches by walking less than 10 minutes from your front door. And, if you want to head to the beach, the house has some beach chairs and towels you can use. So go, enjoy the day and, when you get home, you can rinse off in the outdoor shower, a convenient way to get cleaned up and leave the salt and sand out of the house.
So do you and your large family need a place to vacation this summer? How about you and a group of friends? Do you want a convenient and central location to stay on Poipu without it costing you a fortune in hotel room expenses? Well then visit Hale Huna! You’re going to love it.
So, every few posts or so on this blog, I throw in some information about local vacation homes for rent. This way, if you are reading along and my words are convincing you to come visit, you will know about all of the good places to stay! It’s my service to you. ☺ And that’s why I’m going to tell you about Hale Ylang Ylang in Hanalei.
Now, this month is all about food for me. (Yes, mostly food I can’t have now that I’m on a diet, but still…) And so I wanted to showcase a gorgeous house that also had a fully set-up kitchen and was a short walk away from some nice restaurants. Hale Ylang Ylang is that vacation home.
Actually, it’s a town house, located right near Hanalei Bay. The view is beautiful, which is probably why the house has so many large windows. In fact, the dining room has a long table situated between two extremely large, wide windows. The result is the feeling that you are eating outside in a tropical garden.
And the house itself is exquisite. I know that’s an odd word to use for a house, but this house has such appeal for me. It has hardwood floors, wood paneling that offsets the lighter shades of furniture, a quaint little stairway, a cozy window seat (really more of a window bed) with a bookshelf, and intricate little details that make it all at once cute, spacious, light, respectable, and perfect for any family.
There are two master bedrooms downstairs with King-sized beds, private bathrooms, and all of the privacy you could want. So you could bring your best friends and easily have enough space. Plus, there is an outdoor shower for after swimming in the ocean, cable tv, a DVD player, high speed internet, a washer/dryer unit, and, most importantly, a kitchen to drool over.
The kitchen has granite counter-tops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, a small island for prepping dinner, and all of the equipment you’ll need to make a great meal. All it’s missing is some food, which local markets can easily provide. And speaking of local markets, now we’re getting into the heart of this post: walking distance.
This town house is walking distance from town. That means you’ll be walking distance from a great beach, yes. But it also means that you will be walking distance from several stores, a farmer’s market, and a bunch of wonderful restaurants that serve great food all year round! In other words, you will not only have a great kitchen for cooking your own gourmet meals, but you can also go out to eat at a number of gourmet restaurants without having to rent a car!
So, if you like food the way that I do (or if you just like being incredibly close to a beach and a great shopping center), then choose Hale Ylang Ylang for your next vacation rental here on Kauai. You will absolutely love it!
If you decide to stay on the North Shore and want to take your kids to the Anini Beach swimming area, then I have a vacation rental suggestion for you. One of the best rentals near Anini Beach is Puanani, which is a short walk away from the water. Why is it nice? Well, let me tell you about it.
The first thing I loved about this vacation rental is the interior design. Now, normally I would be bragging about the space and the price (which I will get to), but you can’t help but love this place when you walk into it. This is a two story home with high ceilings and a fun and tropical interior theme. The support posts are painted in bright, friendly colors and the staircase to the second floor is simply beautiful. So, if you are a fan of unique interior design at all, you must visit this place.
Okay, onto the good stuff. This place is HUGE. Seriously, it is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2 living room vacation home tucked into a tropical paradise. The size makes it easy to find your own space, even if you are vacationing with 6 other people. The locational privacy makes it ideal for vacationing families or up to 4 couples vacationing together. And the price is unbeatable, especially if you are looking into hotel costs. (But I’ll get to that in a minute.)
As well as the size, this place has a few amenities. For instance, each bedroom has a bathroom, so there is no fighting over the shower in the morning. The living room couch also folds out into a sofa sleeper, making this a house for up to 8 people. Plus, there is a large wrap-around covered deck on the second floor with tables and chairs, so you can relax each evening while BBQing up a meal and watching the stars above the foliage of the mountain. Yep, it’s nice.
Other amenities for this place include a fully-equipped kitchen for all of your cooking needs, two separate living rooms so you can break up into groups, and free wireless internet for those who need to check my blog for the latest updates. ☺ There is a large yard out front where you can run around and play, and there are fruit trees on the property that you are allowed to pick for some delicious treats. And, if you packed light, that’s okay! There is a washer and drying in the home for easy laundry services.
Now for the cost. If you have researched hotel rooms at all, then you know that they can run anywhere from $200-$500 per night. So, if you and three other couples want to come to Kauai together, that would be between $800 and $2000/night for your group. (Doesn’t sound good, am I right?) HOWEVER, this enormous vacation home is only $2,500 for the week! That’s 7 nights of lodging for up to 4 couples for only $2,500. And when you add on space, amenities, location to the beach, etc… well, you can see why this is a good deal and a nice house.
So, if you are going to be visiting the Anini area, check out Puanani in Kilauea. You are simply going to LOVE this place.
If you decide to stay on the North Shore and want to visit a great beach with lifeguard protection that is perfect for swimming, I would suggest coming to Haena. There is a vacation home here, called Haena Place, that might be just perfect for you and your family, especially if you are a family of 4 or less.
Haena Place is located in a quiet neighborhood in Haena, tucked away into a small cul-de-sac. It is a two-story home with a wrap-around deck that overlooks the lush tropical mountains. So each morning you can step out onto the deck with your family, your food, and your coffee and have a nice breakfast while looking out onto the beautiful tropical landscape.
The house itself is perfect for a small family. There are two bedrooms. The larger of the two has a King-sized bed and the smaller room has a Queen. Plus, there are 1 ½ baths, so the kids will have their own bathroom for everything except showers. The living room is just right for watching one of the movies in the bookshelf for checking out what’s on cable. And the kitchen is fully stocked with the utensils and cooking equipment necessary to make a wonderful meal. You just need to pick up some ingredients.
Plus, the location of this home is perfect. Not only is it located in a safe and quiet neighborhood, but it’s also only a short distance away from Tunnel’s Beach and Haena Beach Park. Haena Beach Park, as you know, is a lifeguarded beach. Plus, the natural shape of the underwater obstacles decrease the large surf, making this beach perfect for swimming and snorkeling. So if you want a family adventure on the beach, this is the place to stay.
And the price is the best part. Hotels are really expensive and you don’t get anything more than a room and a bathroom. It’s even worse when you think of having to spend your entire vacation sharing a small space with your kids. The lack of privacy and crazy mess will get to anyone after a while. But this house is only $1,350 a week! Seriously, price some hotels and you’ll see what a wonderful deal this is. And when you consider all of the amenities you get when you rent a home instead of a hotel room, you’ll definitely decide in favor of Haena Place. You can take my word for it.
If you are visiting Kauai for the Prince Kuhio Day celebration (or if you plan to come to Kauai and spend some time on the South side of the island), I have another great vacation rental recommendation for you: The Tides in Koloa. Just wait until you hear more about it…
The Tides is a LARGE vacation home for up to eight people. There are 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a ton of living space. Actually, this vacation home is about 2500 square feet! That’s plenty of space to bring a bunch of friends, spread out, and really enjoy your stay. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, which is glorious. And the second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, which is also very comfortable. But the third bedroom is actually located downstairs and has it’s own kitchenette, small living area, private entrance, and more. So your biggest problem with this place might be trying to decide which room you want.
The main living space is very open, creating one large room for you to hang out and visit. The kitchen is like a fairly island of awesome. (If you like to cook, this is the place for you.) It’s surrounded by counter-tops, is equipped with the best kitchen gadgets, and makes your kitchen at home look small. And the dining room has space for everyone in your party, as well as providing the dinnerware you’ll need to actually enjoy your meal. Finally, the living room has comfortable furniture, an entertainment center, and free high speed internet.
In other words, The Tides has everything you’ll need for a luxurious stay on a tropical island. But wait… there’s more!
The Tides is situated right on the water. So from just about every room of the house, you’ll have a view of the ocean. Because of the excellent views, you might want to spend more time than usual outside, which is perfectly possible with so much exterior space. The backyard is large, beautiful, and filled with green grass. So you can play football, croquet, or simply lay a towel outside and sunbathe. Plus, there are two beachfront patios (lanais) off of two of the bedrooms. This means that you can enjoy your fresh cup of Kauai Coffee each morning sitting on your own private patio looking out onto the water. Awesome, right?
Sounds tempting, right? So why not come and check it out. You’ll be glad that you did.
You know, if you plan on going to the art fair in Poipu, you might as well stay at a beautiful vacation house while you’re there. And one of the best vacation homes in Poipu is Hale Huna off Kelaukia Street. Let me tell you a bit about it.
First of all, this place is gorgeous. Designed and furnished to let in as much natural light as possible, this vacation home is always bright and sunny. Mirrors located in strategic locations reflect light into other parts of the house, making sure you can always glimpse a little bit of tropical paradise. And all of the windows allow you to see a beautiful garden paradise all around you, including your private garden and mountain views.
Secondly, Hale Huna is soothing. With soft colors and textures, beautiful hardwood floors, large open rooms, and ceiling fans in each room to combat the humidity, you will truly be living in comfort. The kitchen is set up with a large island, lots of counter space, and an abundance of appliances for easy use. The breakfast bar has free Wifi and DSL. And the living room is set up with comfortable furniture and a 47” HDTV and DVD, so you can relax with a movie at the end of a long day.
Now, let’s discuss room. This home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, giving you enough space for 8 adults to sleep comfortably. And since this home is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, there will be enough privacy for you to truly enjoy yourself. The house has a dining room table large enough for 8 to sit comfortably and large rooms so you don’t feel cramped. Plus, there is a large area outside with patio furniture, a table, lounges, and a BBQ for grilling up dinner.
And do you want to know the best part? Well, this home is located right near the beach! In fact, all beaches in the area are a simple 10 minute walk away, giving you access to white sand, surf, snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming, and more. The house has beach towels for you to use and a convenient outdoor shower, in case you come back salty and sandy. So you can enjoy a day by the ocean whenever you want.
Need more amenities? Well, how about access to all of the amenities at Poipu Kai Resort, such as tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a spa? There are also great restaurants in town and shops galore. And, when you want to see the sights, you are in a prime location to start.
So why not consider Hale Huna. I think you’ll really enjoy it!
