Princeville – Plantation Blog

So you are going to be staying in Princeville, at a lovely vacation rental home (say the Plantation at Princeville)? You are on your way to saving money while going on a Hawaiian vacation. I can understand the excitement! You may be wondering what other ways you can save money to cut down the total cost of your vacation. Since you are staying at a vacation home, you are off to a great start. Another way to keep costs low is by buying your own food and then cooking it back at the house! Let me tell you about a grocery store in the Princeville area, in the same neighborhood nearest the Plantation at Princeville.

Foodland in Princeville. It is in the (appropriately named) Princeville Shopping Center. They are open at 6am for you early risers, and close at 11pm each day. What I like about Foodland stores is that they offer DVD and video rental services. This is great to have nearby if you are staying at a vacation rental, especially with little kids. The store is a fully functioning grocery store with a bakery, deli, and meat department. There is a Western Union and a pharmacy in this location as well. For directions from the Plantation at Princeville to this Foodland grocery store, click here for driving directions.

If you are looking for something a bit more specialty, take a car trip east into Kilauea to the Kilauea Town Market & Deli. They are open 8am-8pm daily. This place has a large variety of wines, beers, and other alcoholic beverages. They offer free-range meats, specialty cheeses, and other scrumptious foodie finds! To get there from Princeville, get on the Kuhio Highway headed east. Turn left at the Menehune Mart/Shell Gas Station on Kolo Road. Take a left onto Kilauea Road. Look for the Historic Kong Lung Market Center less than a half of a mile. It will be on the right.

It always makes me feel better when I can know the area that I will be staying in. Then I can plan and have places in mind to go. Knowing “what is what” also helps me. I am such a planner!

Princeville is a lovely, luxurious place to be! It is one of the major cities on the island of Kauai. Princeville gets to brag of not one but two championship golf courses. If you are looking to stay somewhere with a city buzz to it, Princeville is your place. Staying in a vacation rental is what I suggest for your lodging needs. I have talked with too many people over the years and vacation rentals are the way to go. Let me introduce you to Plantation at Princeville and you will see why a vacation rental is the best way to go when vacationing or visiting Kauai’s north shore.

First off, Princeville is a major city on Kauai, but the Plantation at Princeville is not smack in the middle of downtown. It is just the right mix of being close to things to do on the island, while also having privacy at the vacation home. Furthermore, the beach is just a few minutes’ drive. Staying at the Plantation at Princeville leads you to Anini Beach, that’s the closest one. Hanalei Bay is also just a drive down the coast too. It’s a win-win-win for you. :) One nearby attraction (literally down the short road) is the Princeville Golf Club-Makai Course. If you or anyone in your group staying at this vacation home plays golf, you are in luck!

Here is the street address if you would like to see for yourself the location on a map: 4771 Pepelani Loop Suite 211, Princeville, HI 96722. This rental home has a homey-meets-luxury feel to it. Let me tell you…

It comfortably hosts a family of four. Keep in mind, if this is not a family trip it makes for a great couples getaway for a vacation double date. There is a room (master) with 1 King sized bed and another bedroom with a Queen sized bed. It is equipped with what you’d expect in a home: air-conditioning, wireless internet, TVs in every room, a stackable washer and dryer, and a fully equipped kitchen. On top of a kitchen ready to go, is a gas grill for you to use at your convenience. Sounding like a home yet, that you can live in and relax in? There is also a one car garage–perfect for the rental car you have while on Kauai.

I saved the best piece of information for last. The price! Really, all of this is priced for just $960 per week plus tax. How reasonable is that? All you need, right at home at your vacation rental. There are seasonal rates, as well as discounted times of the year, so be sure to book your trip before your desired dates fill up.

Stainless steel appliances. Comfortable furniture and beds. Fully stocked kitchen. Large master bathroom with shower and bath. Outdoor patio. Tropical island. Sound good? Well, why not come and stay at Plantation at Princeville 1111 then!

I talk about vacation rental condos a lot on this blog. Honestly, that’s mostly because hotels are overpriced for what you get. Hotels give you one bedroom with a small bathroom. Sure, you can use the lounge downstairs and there are sometimes restaurants on site. But you have to pay extra for the food and anyone (regardless of where they are staying) can use those facilities.

Wouldn’t it be better to have an entire house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a dining room all to yourself and spend less money doing it? And what if that house was in Princeville, right at the center of the action where you can find restaurants, spas, a children’s park, a library, great beaches, rental gear for water sports, grocery stores and souvenir shops, and much more. Epic, right?

Plantation at Princeville 1111 is a rental condo with so much going for it. To put it frankly – this place is nice. I mean, you get an entire house that sleeps 4-6 comfortably plus the added comforts of air conditioning, cable tv, a DVD player, a full-sized washer/dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, and beach toys in the garage! It’s walking distance to Princeville Resort, so you can enjoy the restaurant there, as well as the local entertainment lounge. You are also right by the world famous Makai and Prince golf courses, so you can set a tee time and play a few rounds while you’re here.

Now, I know that you might be sick of me saying so, but you should get a vacation rental when you come to visit us on Kauai. And if you have a family of 4-6, choose this place. It’s much nicer than a hotel room and only costs %980 a week! Seriously, You can’t find hotel rooms for your family of 6 for less than that, and typically you’d have to spend a lot more. So come and visit, and enjoy some of our beautiful local rental homes while you’re here.

Do you have a couple of kids who have never seen Hawaii? Well, there is a Princeville Plantation rental waiting for you on Kauai.

This plantation house is located at 4771 Pepelani Loop in Princeville. That means it’s on the north shore near several beaches, from Anini Beach to Hanalei Bay. With beds enough for four, the accommodations couldn’t be more perfect. And, if your family is larger than four, there is also a sofa that folds out into a queen sized bed, giving plenty of space for everyone.

This home rental also has air conditioning, so the humidity of our tropical environment won’t bother you while you sleep. With a large, fully furnished kitchen to make meals, a full sized washer and dryer in the home, and a plethora of beach toys located in the garage, this truly is the perfect getaway for a family with kids. Plus, it is priced well at only $125 a night. With Hawaiian hotels charging just about as much for far less, you would do well to put your money into this rental home instead.

And in case you’re worried about getting bored, you should know that this home is only a short walk from the Princeville Resort, the Princeville shopping center, the Princeville spa, and the Prince golf courses. There is also a public library and a children’s park not far away. So you’ll never run out of things to do and places to visit.

Don’t wait until your kids are grown and out of the house to take a dream vacation. Bring them along and enjoy the best accommodations that Kauai has to offer.
